THE ENGAGEMENT
We have been together for over 11 years, we have travelled together and have 3 beautiful babies together – 2 fur & 1 human. We wanted to get married, because there’s nothing like spending forever with your best friend.
THE PLANNING
We had planned originally to have over 150 guests at another venue. Ultimately we decided that wasn’t us and we decided to have an intimate family only wedding. A month later we surprised our friends at our “engagement party”. We shared the video from our videographer to show that we were actually already are married! I enjoyed all of the planning, our vendors were absolute queens and made the process SO fun! Loved every moment!

DID YOU OVERCOME ANY CHALLENGING OR EMOTIONAL MOMENTS?
Deciding to cut a big wedding down to only family was emotional, but ultimately the best decision!! No regrets. No challenges, even with our date changes – all our vendors were amazing and made it work for us.
DID YOU STICK TO TRADITION?
We went complete opposite and had our wedding our way. Both my mum and dad walked me down the isle, our daughter was the only person in our bridal party, we did a rock off to see who would read their vows first, we enjoyed a shot before our first kiss with our guests. We didn’t want old school and boring, our ceremony was really fun!!
SONYA’S FAVOURITE PART..
The whole day, from the moment we woke up right up until we went to sleep. If I could replay the day over and over I absolutely would!!
ANY ADVICE YOU’D LIKE TO GIVE?
HAVE FUN! It’s the best day of your life and that day goes super fast (everyone says it but it’s SO true!) It’s your day – do what YOU want & make it your own!! Enjoy the process of planning and really savour every second when your special day comes around.
