Seeing everything come together in the end and of course shopping for a wedding dress and picking the right suit!
EMOTIONAL MOMENTS
A point that comes to mind is during the wedding planning. Renee asked both her Dad and Mum to walk her down the aisle as they both mean the world to her.
Sweet Child O Mine played during our first dance. The version was from Viggo Mortenson, George MacKay, Samantha Isler, etc. off Captain Fantastic.
We didn’t want too many eyes on us for the dance so when the pace got faster we brought in our bridal party for a boogie.
DID ANYTHING GO WRONG, THAT YOU CAN LAUGH ABOUT NOW?
Yes! and we laughed on the day too! We were running off a generator and it ran out close to 11pm. But it was perfect timing as the DJ was finishing up, the cool room was already cool so drinks stayed cold, we had candles burning for light and portable speakers to continue playing music. Now we have many polaroid photos of every vibing and holding candles. Perfect!
WE SPLURGED ON…
On-site accomodation for our bridal party and some family/friends.
ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES
Make sure your wedding guest list is elite. The people you invite are the ones who will make your day.
We could have organised the bare minimum but if we had the same guests we invited, it would’ve still been the best day ever.
The people make the day, not all the little extra pieces no one pays attention to.
