Catherine and Cameron were married at Little Bay in South West Rocks – a stunning part of our coastline. 100 of their family & friends were invited to celebrate with them. Catherine spoke to us about their wedding day!!
THE PROPOSAL
Our celebrant summed it up for us….
“In the shade of a prison wall on black Friday, in the car after Cam slipped trying to walk down a dirt track in thongs. And Cath, who had a mouthful of chips and a tub of gravy in her hand. If that doesn’t set the scene for a romantic proposal then nothing will. And with that Cam put his heart on the line, and asked his beautiful Cath to marry him. And through the chips and gravy the answer was a YES.”
THE PLANNING
There was a lot that was a favourable part of the planning process. We said to our vendors these are our colours, be creative and design as you wish. Giving them artistic license definitely helped the process.
Songs that set the scene of our day were Amen – John Adams, the song I walked down too.
First dance was Dandelions by Ruth B feat Slayer and the bridesmaids walked down to Stand by me by Florence and the Machine.
WEDDING TRADITIONS
We weren’t allowed to see each the night before and until we meet at the alter for the ceremony.
FAVOURITE PART
Cameron seeing Cath for the first time. Cath seeing Cam at the alter.. Both of us being surrounded by our family and friends who all made the day incredible special.
DID ANYTHING GO WRONG, THAT YOU CAN LAUGH ABOUT NOW?
Cameron pants not fitting correctly on the day as the wrong size was put in the suit bag!
ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES
Check your pants at least a few days before to make sure it correct.
Enjoy the planning process even though it can be stressful as you will look back at that and it think it was all worth it.
Just breath in the days leading up and make sure you take time to rest and feel the all the emotions and joy as the days goes so quick.
